Also, the Wikipedia article on purple says that Tyrian purple "was closer to crimson than our idea of purple", but it gives no reference. The American Heritage Dictionary says "reddish". If anyone can find a reliable reference to support the Wiktionary version, then I'll amend my swatch or add an alternative one.
